Afternoon Tea at the Cake Hole.

I enjoyed a very lovely trip to the Cake Hole Tearooms in Edwinstowe, courtsey of my dad who treated me to lunch there. There isn't a great deal of space inside to sit and it was fairly busy but there is much more room in the court yard which is a lovely place to while the hours away on pleasant days in the dabbled shade of the trees. .

The original plan was to call in for afternoon tea but as we arrived a bit earlier when lunch was still available neither of us could resist the home made smoked mackerel pate and salad. Neither could I visit a tea room and not indulge in a bit of cake. There were many variations of lovely delicious desserts and cakes on offer but I'm afraid my old time favourite of Victoria sponge with jam and butter-cream still won the day.

  1. This looks so inviting! I can not say my father ever took me to tea, but we had a few picnics I treasure.

  2. Oh, Oh! I would have loved to sample such goodies in a tearoom. Nevermind the fact that I would have eaten until I passed out, and the afternoon would have passed without my knowing it. I would have thoroughly enjoyed myself!
